    Q: What is FOMO Con?

    A: FOMO Con is a virtual TTRPG convention founded by Zoup who decided to not let the thought “Huh, I wish there was a place we could all hang out and escape the FOMO on GenCon" stay a thought. It aspires to be a place open to everyone in the ttRPG/AP space missing out on the games, panels, and networking of the current big con.

    Q: Where and when will FOMO Con take place?

    A: For its first iteration, FOMO Con will be taking place from July 31st 6pm EST to August 3rd 11pm EST in the official FOMO Con Discord Server, which you can join here: (Invites are no longer active)

    Q: What do I need to attend the convention?

    A: Besides the basic equipment needed for a virtual call, attending FOMO Con is as easy as joining a Discord server! Once you join, you will find more information about our events and gain access to our fantastic community, which you can join here: (Invites are no longer active)

    Q: How do I find Events?

    A: FOMO Con will be hosting a variety of games, panels, round-table discussions, workshops, and screening events, all GM’ed and hosted by members of the wonderful, online TTRPG community. You can find our event schedule posted in our Discord server and here:

    Q: Will these Events have an audience?

    A: Panels, round-table discussions, workshops and screening events will ideally have audiences as muted listeners in a Discord call. Be sure to review the details of the event thoroughly as each one will have a unique host, premise, and set-up. For questions or concerns, you can reach out to a Moderator for support.A: For games, we leave it up to the GMs and their players! You know what is best for your table. If the table allows an audience and the game is hosted in Discord, please remember to mute your mic when joining and respect our community guidelines. If the game is streamed, please respect the rules of the chat.

    Will I be recorded in any Event I participate in as an audience member or player?

    A: In most cases, audience members will attend as listeners/viewers only, but in events including Q&A segments or games in which you are a player, participants are free to choose if they are on camera or not. If you are on camera but do not want to be recorded, you can convey as such on your sign-up form or by reaching out to a Moderator.

    Can I record an Event I am running or participating in?

    A: If you are interested in having a recording of an event that you are running, there are a couple steps. First, you will need a method by which to record. Some options are using OBS to record or to have a program like Audacity recording you locally. For this con, we have not looked into using Craig or Giarc. The second piece to recording is obtaining consent by anyone whose voice or image may be captured during the recording.

    How do I sign up to run an Event, like a game or a panel?

    A: At this time, we have largely settled the schedule. However, if you still have an event that you really want to submit, please do and we will see if we can find a time to make it work. There may be less eyes on it, but that’s okay!

    I submitted to run an Event. When can I expect to hear back? What if I need to make an adjustment to my submission?

    A: Thank you for your submission! Everyone who has submitted by now, on 7/27 at 5:10PM EST should have already been contacted. If you submitted something after that point, one of our moderators will reach out to you as soon as they can in a private Discord message. From then on, you and the moderator can work out if any adjustments need to be made.

    Hi all, Zoup here.This server started with the thought, "Huh, I wish there was a place we could all hang out and escape the FOMO on GenCon."I thought, ideally, it would be open to everyone in the ttRPG/AP space who wishes they were going to GenCon, for the games, the panels, or the networking. People especially talk about the networking opportunities that GenCon gives, the chance to meet people you've admired from afar and talk shop with them, and I started this with the goal that we would get that opportunity even if we couldn't go to GenCon.I was much more focused on AP people who are missing out on that GenCon experience, but I'm also happy, especially for panels, for people who just like playing ttRPGs to join us, because that's what a panel is for. To be honest, at first, in my wildest dreams would it this server get up to 50, but it's shot past that.This is definitely going to be one of those things that'll be what you make of it, and I hope you make of it a beautiful, safe, and friendly time. Please do invite your other friends who might be experiencing some con FOMO.Thank you so much for being here. To see people's pronouns click their name, and it will tell you what they have selected.3️⃣ No overtly NSFW content. We want this to be a community for people to chat and engage with each other. Please respect that.4️⃣ No AI art or writing around these parts! Be original, and be yourself!5️⃣ We asked everyone's DMing preference upon entrance to this server. You MUST respect DMing preference unless a MOD must DM for official reasons. To see people's DM preference, click their name and it will tell you what they have selected.6️⃣ If you MUST post something that is potentially a line or veil, you MUST use a spoiler tag for the post and/or picture.
